Zac was imported from Sweden at the age of 6 after successfully participating in the Breeders Trophy, the Swedish Young Horse Championship, scoring 69-71% at 1st/2nd level. Owned by an amateur rider Zac is now schooling all 3rd level movements. He's very athletic with big gaits but still remarkably easy to sit thanks to his relaxed, swinging back. He has shown a natural talent for the upper level movements like piaffe and passage, has beautiful mediums and performs all lateral movements with ease. His changes are not perfect but are coming along. He has been shown sparingly due to owner's busy schedule but placed and scored between 64-71% at every show he entered last year! Just as his pedigree indicates (Zeus and Gotthard are famous jumper sires) Zac is a great jumper too. He easily free jumps over 5 feet, has jumped 4'4" with rider, and has shown over 3'3" courses as part of his early training for an Eventing career. He showed at Novice level as a 5-year-old and there isn't anything he won't jump. He's not your classic hunter type but should do very well in the jumpers or equitation. He's forward and responsive to your leg aids and has an excellent
temperament, just as nice in the arena as he is on the trail.
He gets very attached to his owner and prefers to have "his own person".
He has no vices but needs to know who is the boss. I have
been giving a 13-y-o beginner lessons on him and he was a huge success as
a "party-pony". What ever you are looking for, an upper level dressage
prospect, an outstanding jumper, a horse to move on with and do fun stuff
like clinics and trail rides - you can't go
wrong with Zac. He x-rayed clean prior importation. |
